Active Items Guide in Deadlock: Survivability
In the first part of our Deadlock active items guide, we explored the "Weapons" section, focusing on builds centered around hand-damage. Now it’s time to dive into the "Survivability" tab, which features Deadlock items that can drastically change the course of a game and help counter enemy abilities.
Low-Cost Active Items
Healing Rite
This item is useful in the early game when constant health regeneration in lane is crucial. However, keep in mind that its effect is canceled upon taking damage, so players need to be careful with positioning.

Mid-Cost Active Items
Health Nova
This item is similar to Dynamo’s third skill, which activates instantly and depends on the number of allies healed at once. It’s great for supporting your team, especially during retreats or regrouping.
Restorative Locket
This item is reminiscent of Dota 2’s Holy Locket. It charges from enemy abilities and can be used on both allies and yourself. It’s especially helpful if you’re facing nukers and your team lacks tanky heroes.
Return Fire
This inexpensive item can effectively counter a fed Haze. It works against her ultimate since Haze doesn’t have great survivability. In a shootout, you stand a chance to win, especially against fast close-range attacks like Wraith’s.
Divine Barrier
A shield that can be applied to yourself or your carry during initiation or escape. It provides protection from both mystical and physical damage, increases movement speed, and passively boosts the owner’s casting range.
Rescue Beam
This artifact is perfect for emergencies when you find yourself trapped. Its targeted healing, which can reposition heroes, can save your carry from a bad fight, like Dynamo’s black hole.
Metal Skin
This item offers complete protection against physical damage and melee attacks. Metal Skin is a good choice against enemy lineups with many hand-damage dealers or melee heroes like Abrams.
Majestic Leap
This fun item can lead to awkward situations if used poorly. A graceful leap that serves as a vertical dash, it’s ideal for heroes reliant on positioning and ultimate abilities (Seven, Dynamo, etc.).
Debuff Remover
Though last on the list, its importance cannot be overstated. It effectively counters many heroes, including Grey Talon, Warden, Vindicta, Shiv, and Pocket. It removes negative effects and boosts movement speed, making it an excellent escape tool.
High-Cost Active Items
These artifacts are typically late-game purchases and have more specialized effects than simple shields and heals.
Colossus
Similar to Dota 2’s Giant Ring, it increases damage resistance and the size of the character’s model. Colossus is perfect for tanky heroes like Warden or Abrams.
Shadow Weave
This item is a good pick for carries when you need extra survivability or the ability to strike from behind. It grants invisibility and boosts magical damage.
Unstoppable
If you’re playing as Seven or Bebop and Grey Talon keeps interrupting your ultimate with birds, be sure to grab this item. It provides immunity to all crowd control, similar to Black King Bar.
Phantom Strike
This item is ideal for aggressive play and breaking enemy positioning. It allows you to quickly close the gap on heroes like Vindicta, Grey Talon, or McGinnis, taking them out of the fight.
