There are several ways to etch your name into the history of Counter-Strike 2: receive personalized stickers for participating in a major or create a beautiful weapon skin that becomes part of a collection and is added to the game. However, among professional players, there is a group of seven individuals who have managed to stand out in a special way. This article will focus on the graffiti on various maps in CS2 dedicated to incredible moments of players who left their mark on esports history.

The Burning Defender

On the B site of the Overpass CS2 map, there is a yellow house with an image of a special forces operative on fire. This is the first graffiti in the game, appearing after the legendary moment at ESL One Cologne 2014. Olof "olofmeister" Kajber became its hero when, during the semi-final match against Dignitas, he continued defusing the C4 bomb while on fire from a Molotov cocktail.

This moment became a symbol of courage and persistence, as the Swedish player managed to defuse the bomb just moments before his death, securing his team the fifteenth round and keeping their hopes of victory alive. The following round also ended in favor of Fnatic, which won the map and the match, and eventually the entire major. In the final, Fnatic defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas 2:1. This graffiti serves as a reminder of the dramatic moment when one player’s determination changed the outcome of the tournament.

The olofmeister Boost

Olof "olofmeister" Kajber is a unique figure in CS history, being the only player to have two commemorative graffiti dedicated to him. Both are located on the Overpass map. The second graffiti immortalizes the so-called "olofmeister boost" used by Fnatic in the quarterfinals of DreamHack Winter 2014 against Team LDLC.

The boost was performed on the CT spawn and allowed players to see large areas of the map while remaining virtually invisible to opponents. This tactical move helped Fnatic come back from a 3:12 deficit to win the map 16:13. However, subsequent controversies and accusations of unfair play led to the boost being deemed unfair, and Fnatic had to forfeit the match victory. Nonetheless, this moment became one of the most discussed in CS history, and Valve decided to commemorate it by adding a memorial plaque to the map.

How Fnatic Forever Changed Counter-Strike

The Flying AWP

On the Mirage CS2 map, behind the van at the B site, you can see an image of an AWP with wings and four marks above the scope. This graffiti is dedicated to Marcelo "coldzera" David and his legendary moment at MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016, when his team Luminosity Gaming faced Team Liquid.

The Brazilian team was down 9:15 and on the brink of elimination. At this moment, coldzera demonstrated remarkable sniping skills. When Liquid players attempted to take the B site, coldzera single-handedly stopped them with an AWP, securing four kills, including two no-scopes. His incredible accuracy and reaction speed became a benchmark of supreme skill. Inspired by this moment, Luminosity managed to come back, push the map into overtime, and eventually win the tournament. Coldzera even got a tattoo of this graffiti on his right arm, forever marking the moment in his memory.

The Heavenly Descent

On the Cache CS2 map, there is a graffiti depicting s1mple with an AWP and wings at the entrance to the B site from the defending side. This graffiti appeared thanks to the incredible moment when Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostylev made two consecutive jumping no-scopes in the semi-final of ESL One: Cologne 2016.

The moment was so well-received by the community that the graffiti remained even after the Cache map update, despite its initial absence in the new version. This episode highlights how important risk and decisiveness are in the game and stands as proof that s1mple is one of the most talented and aggressive snipers in CS history.

The Banana King

The "banana" area of the Inferno map has become known as "Adam's Street" in honor of Adam "Friberg" Friberg. Friberg was a key CS2 figure in Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) during their dominance on the scene. For several years, he repeatedly showcased his skills on "banana," especially when NiP fought for control of the B site.

In the grand final of ESL One Cologne 2014, Friberg demonstrated why he is called the "Banana King." With an AK-47 Redline in hand, he single-handedly eliminated the entire Fnatic team, making three of his five kills on "banana." This round was decisive for NiP and helped them win the final. The graffiti serves as a reminder of how one player can change the course of a match with actions on a key map position.

The Phenomenal Grenade

Another graffiti on Inferno commemorates a moment from the grand final of PGL Krakow Major 2017. Gambit Gaming faced Immortals in a tense battle for victory. In the eleventh round, Immortals players took the A site and planted the bomb, maintaining a numerical advantage. However, Dosia from Gambit made a move that changed the entire course of the game.

He threw a grenade from the "boiler" into the "sandbags" where two Immortals players were positioned. The grenade reduced their health to a minimum, and the subsequent C4 explosion finished them off, destroying two AK-47s and breaking Immortals’ economy. This moment was crucial to Gambit’s victory in the tournament and earned its place in CS history.

The Wolf on the Roof

A unique graffiti on the roof of one of the buildings on the Blacksite map serves as a reminder of the moment when strategy and the ability to anticipate the opponent's actions led to victory. During a battle royale showmatch at IEM Katowice Major 2019, player Furlan was left alone against two opponents — SPUNJ and jks. Using the trajectory of a delivery drone, he was able to determine their location and attack from the roof, eliminating both. The graffiti depicting a wolf with the signatures of Furlan and GruBy symbolizes this incredible moment and highlights the creativity and intuition required for victory.

Although each CS2 graffiti represents only one of many highlights that didn’t make it onto the map, these commemorative moments and images will remain in fans’ memories forever. They remind us that CS2 is more than just a game. It’s a living sport full of amazing stories, unexpected turns, and incredible moments that will inspire players and fans for years to come. Remember, CS2 is a game, and the most important thing is to have fun!
