Best Sound and Audio Settings in CS2
Counter-Strike 2 features an entirely new sound system that is more accurate than its predecessor. The weapon sound effects in the game have been reworked and balanced to make shots sound more pleasing. Therefore, simply transferring sound settings from CS:GO to CS2 won't work. In this article, we present you with a complete guide to the best CS2 sound settings.
Equalizer Settings for CS2
One of the key parameters in CS2 sound settings is the equalizer or EQ. The developers offer three configurations: Natural, Crisp, and Smooth. Each of these settings alters the sound to some degree.
The most important thing is to avoid selecting the Smooth configuration. It will hinder your ability to determine the distance and direction of sound sources, making it harder to identify enemies.
For matchmaking, the Crisp setting is most suitable. This setting will allow you to hear shots and footsteps more clearly, which is critical when playing CS2. With this configuration, you will fully experience the new sound system.
Natural lies somewhere between the two previous settings. This equalizer setting is more suitable for training modes like Deathmatch, where there are constant gunfire and explosions. This option reduces ear fatigue, which is particularly helpful during long practice sessions.
L/R Isolation in CS2
The delivery of sounds through audio channels has also been changed in CS2, making it significantly different from CS:GO. Sounds from the left and right audio channels are mixed. This innovation makes it much easier to identify the source of a sound. On the other hand, the sound in CS2 is entirely different from CS:GO. If you are ready to get used to the new sounds, leave this setting at 0%.
Want to play in the classic style and hear sounds like in CS:GO? This is possible. Set this parameter between 50% and 70%. Keep in mind that this CS2 config might make it harder to pinpoint the sound source, but the game will sound more familiar.
Perspective Correction
The next parameter is very similar to what we discussed in the "L/R Isolation in CS2" section. Depending on the position of the sound source relative to the player, you hear it differently. Perspective correction should help you more accurately determine the direction of the sound source. So, if you want to keep the sounds the same as in CS:GO, disable this parameter.
Note that perspective correction does not significantly affect the perception of CS2 sound setting. This parameter is enabled by default, and if you haven't experienced any discomfort, you might not need to disable it.
Microphone Settings in CS2

Perspective correction should help you more accurately determine the direction of the sound source. So, if you want to keep the sounds the same as in CS:GO, disable this parameter.

Music Settings in CS2
CS2 also includes detailed music settings. Each slider parameter is individual for each player and should be adjusted to your taste. We only insist that you do not lower the volume of the ten-second countdown before the C4 explosion.
The ten-second timer before the C4 explosion is a crucial audio cue that can help win rounds for both attackers and defenders. Given that the C4 blast radius has been increased on all maps in CS2, this signal can save your life.
