New CS2 Update: The Armory

The recent CS2 update introduced one of the largest content expansions to date, featuring the launch of "The Armory" event. This event, viewed as a replacement for previous operations, eliminates missions and reward medals. Instead, players can purchase a pass, earn experience in the game, and spend event points in the shop.

 

New Cosmetics: Charms and Weapon Collections

One of the most anticipated features is the introduction of CS2 weapon charms. Players now have access to two collections of these cosmetic items. Charms, a long-discussed customization element in the community, have been met with mixed reactions despite their expected addition.

Additionally, three new CS2 weapon collections have been introduced, including skins for the updated Overpass map. Players can also find two new sticker collections and a new case with unique items, including the Kukri knife. Interestingly, a previously discovered "Twin Blade" knife was not included in this update, likely to extend the release of content.

The "Armory Pass" might serve as a replacement for traditional operations. All CS2 items from the pass or acquired via trade or the marketplace are now subject to a week-long trade restriction.

Other notable updates include the return of the StatTrak mechanic, which tracks weapon usage statistics, and the ability to adjust sticker wear levels before applying them. Players can now also detach charms from weapons, though this comes at a cost.

For example, an issue with character leg movement that caused players to see characters mimicking Michael Jackson's "dance moves" was fixed. Telemetry graphics for server connection tracking were also improved, alongside minor menu refinements.
